Common questions about our team

How many dentists are on the team?
Five clinicians: three board-certified pediatric dentists and two general dentists working alongside the pediatric specialists. All are licensed in Michigan with verified NPI numbers.
What ages do you treat?
Infants from their first dental visit (typically by age one) through teens, plus patients with special healthcare needs of any age.
Are your dentists board-certified?
Yes. The pediatric specialists on our team have completed two to three years of additional residency training after dental school, focused on the dental needs of children and patients with special healthcare needs.
What makes pediatric dentistry different from general dentistry?
Pediatric dentists train specifically in child psychology, growth and development, behavior management, sedation, and the dental needs of patients with medical complexity. Children are not small adults; baby teeth are structurally different from adult teeth, and the behavioral side of a visit matters as much as the clinical side.
How do you handle children who are afraid of the dentist?
Tell-show-do, distraction, voice control, and patience. We narrate every step in age-appropriate language and let your child handle the mirror or instruments before we use them. For severe anxiety we offer nitrous oxide or oral sedation when clinically appropriate.
Do you treat children with special healthcare needs?
Yes. We see kids on the autism spectrum, with sensory differences, and with medical complexity. We offer quiet-room scheduling, extended appointment windows, and sedation options when indicated.
